Madrid on October 12, 2010 - Antonio Sainz and Javier Cattaneo (Porsche-Gulf) have obtained in the Historic Rally of Spain his more celebrated and distinguished victory, on having inscribed his names in the record of the championship, as the first Champions of the Cup of Spain of Historic Cars. A competition that the team of Madrid has controlled from the first moment and have finished off in one of the most difficult rounds of the season, obtaining in addition the scratch in all the specials of the rally.

 Although from out it could seem that it has been easy, the truth is that it has not been easy. Rallies to the old-style, hard and difficult, with stages of more than twelve hours, that have tested the drivers' reliability and cars; rain, fog and mechanical difficulties that practically were leaving the team in the ditch and that the human team of ASM Motorsport has could to resolve. All this without forgetting drivers as Jesús Ferreiro, Manuel Bobes or Rafael Serratosa, that they have fought up to the last moment and that they have increased the value of the title obtained by the Gulf Historic Team.

The second edition of the Historic Rally of Spain had his neuralgic center in the city of Ávila. The round was consisting of two stages and ten timed sections, which were adding practically hundred sixty kilometres of the total of five hundred eight kilometres that the tour was consisting. The first day, with two specials that were repeating themselves in two occasions and that were overcoming the twenty kilometres, was going the deciding reason for the aspirations of all the teams. The difficulty being increased when the rain and the fog were doing act of presence, especially during the last section already by night.

Between congratulations of the team, Antonio Sainz was trying to summarize a season, that though there weren’t obtained the results waited in Europeans’ Championship, the change and follow-up of the Cup of Spain, has served finally to round a brilliant season … " First of all I would like to be grateful to Gulf for the invaluable help, support and overcoat to the confidence deposited in the project, and to the team ASM Motorsport which in the hardest moments didn’t let twist his arm and to be able to settle the problems when practically our abandon was promising to be. Nothing of this would be possible without Javier's invaluable help, in that always I can trust. Neither can I forget from Bartomeu Fluxà. The received congratulations correspond to both equally. Thanks to all".

After the obtaining and celebration of the title, the team will to take part in the rallies Costa Brava, Vasco-Navarro and Comunidad of Madrid. The first one is to count for European Historic Rally Championship and represents a new opportunity to measure up to the big European specialists of the speciality. This race it will allow to improve the adjustment of the Porsche 911 with a view to the last great appointment of the year of the Gulf Historic Team, the Rally of the Comunidad of Madrid. Between both it will be disputed the Rally Vasco-Navarro, last round of the calendar of the Cup of Spain of Historic Cars, where Sainz and Cattaneo are inscribed again by the Escort.
